Job Title: Pastoral Intern (Student Ministry & Music Leadership)
Church: Grace Presbyterian Church ARP
Location: Columbia, SC
Employment Status: Part-time to Full-time
Grace Presbyterian Church (ARP) is looking for a pastoral intern to serve in our growing congregation located in northeast Columbia. We currently have needs in our student ministry and music areas. We are open to those seeking both part-time and full-time opportunities.
Grace is a young church (only seven years old) defined by the phrase “Gospel Accessibility.” It is our passion to see the people of Northeast Columbia come to faith in Jesus and to be discipled. As a church plant that has only recently moved into an established building, Grace is a perfect opportunity for a ministry-minded person to “cut their teeth” in a developing, growing, and vibrant church environment. This is a perfect opportunity for any seminarian who wants to be equipped in a local church setting in order to be launched into ministry leadership.
In our student ministry, we have active ministries led by a motivated group of adult volunteers. We have a small yet faithful group of middle school and high school students with more than 50 non-communing members on the rise. We are in need of a well-developed student ministry program to receive them and to walk beside their parents as they continue their children’s discipleship into those formative years to come.
As for our music ministry, we have an established music worship ministry with a record of ample volunteerism and a plethora of talented folks who participate in weekly worship. We desire to bring on a music director who will continue to assist the pastor and lead the music team in excellence as we design and execute weekly worship services that speak to the heart of our congregants and express the full message of the Gospel in an accessible and clear way. Our musical philosophy emphasizes congregational singing, with a repertoire built around traditional and re-tuned hymns, supported on a typical Sunday by piano, guitar, mandolin and hand drum. As a casual yet liturgical church, we have a folksy feel and a warm and hospitable environment.
Additionally, as a budding church, there will be a lot of opportunities to engage in the peripheral ministries at the church and to gain experience in a wide variety of church ministry areas.
If either portion of this position sparks your interest, we want to hear from you. We believe that God will use this application process to lead us to the best leaders for the future of Grace Pres. Please send your resume and cover letter to: email@example.com
